For the second year in a row, Leidos has earned a perfect rating on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), making it “One of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality.” The CEI is the nation’s foremost LGBTQ benchmarking survey. It measures corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.

Leidos exceeded all CEI metrics referencing support of its LGBTQ workforce and external LGBTQ community-related initiatives. The HRC further recognized Leidos as a company that offers identical benefits to same- and different-sex spouses and partners; provides transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage; and has adopted gender transition guidelines to establish best practices in transgender inclusion.

“We are thrilled to be named one of the ‘Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality’ for the second year in a row,” said Paul Engola, Leidos’ chief human resources officer and head of business partnerships. “At Leidos, we firmly believe that nurturing an inclusive and diverse workforce is a strategic business priority. As a result, we have purposefully enhanced our practices to better attract and retain talent within the LGBTQ community. This recognition reflects Leidos’ enduring commitment to celebrating our employees’ differences, perspectives, and life experiences as contributing to our success.”

Leidos is a proud supporter of LGTBQ rights in and out of the workplace. We continue to launch initiatives and implement policies aimed at fostering an environment where everyone feels empowered to bring their full selves to the workplace. Last year, Leidos began including voluntary gender and sexual orientation identification within our human resources system, provided guidance for transitioning employees and their managers, offered trainings related to gender identity and sexual orientation, and promoted pronoun inclusion in our signature lines. This year we plan to further integrate our systems to allow employees to easily have their preferred name quickly reflected across every Leidos platform and database, as well as extending the effectiveness of our broader community of support through our ally training program.

You can learn more about Leidos’ commitment to inclusion and diversity and its dedicated PRIDE Employee Resource Group (ERG). Leidos’ PRIDE ERG was established in 2015 with the purpose of enhancing Leidos’ culture and providing an open forum for the discussion of LGBTQ+ workforce topics. Since then, it has become a highly utilized venue for sharing educational resources, career development opportunities, and citizenship and community engagement activities.
