Leidos to provide Security Operations Center-as-a-Service (SOCaaS) for the FTC

(RESTON, Va.) Sept. 18, 2023 – Leidos (NYSE:LDOS), a FORTUNE® 500 science and technology leader, has been awarded a new prime contract by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to manage cyber and enterprise security operations for the organization. The single award, firm-fixed-price contract has a one-year base period of performance and four one-year option years. It has a total value of approximately $12 million, if all options are exercised.

"At Leidos, we are committed to delivering the highest standards of managed cyber and enterprise security operations, and we look forward to working with the FTC to safeguard their critical assets and data,” said Michael Van Gelder, Senior Vice President and Operations Manager at Leidos. “This program represents another milestone in our mission to create a more secure digital world for our customers."

Leidos will work to implement and operate a modern Security Operations Center (SOC) and its supporting IT security tools as a fully outsourced, managed SOC-as-a-Service (SOCaaS) program. This will help the FTC enhance its cybersecurity posture while meeting the agency’s mission to protect consumers and competition in the marketplace.

Under the contract, Leidos will provide cybersecurity monitoring, incident assessment and response, threat hunting, and other cybersecurity support services. Leidos will also assist in the implementation of FTC’s Zero Trust Architecture plan intended to serve as a foundational blueprint for a government-wide SOCaaS program for external entities.

Leidos has supported the FTC for more than 20 years across multiple task orders including ongoing support for the Sentinel Network Services (SNS), Infrastructure Management, the ServiceNow Enterprise Service Management, Microsoft 365 End User Productivity and Collaboration, and Okta Identity and Access Management.
