Celebrating our AI interns
At Leidos, our mission and goals are supported by bright, new ideas brought in by the next generation of innovators. Named in the Forbes Top 300 companies to begin a career, almost 1,500 college students, both undergraduate and graduate level, have joined Team Leidos this year alone.
Our interns come from all kinds of backgrounds, offer fresh perspectives, and are working toward a variety of degrees, adding value to our capabilities and corporate sectors. Many of our interns are students at our strategic university alliance schools, which includes George Washington University, George Mason University, UC San Diego, University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, West Virginia University, Wright State University, University of Central Florida, University of Maryland, Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Mississippi State University.
In addition, we partner with historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) to cultivate a workplace rich in diversity of thought, experience, and culture. Alabama A&M University, Hampton University, Howard University, Morgan State, Norfolk State University, Prairie View A&M University, University of Arizona, University of Central Florida, University of Texas, San Antonio, University of Houston, Tuskegee University are our current partner organizations within our HBCU network.
Our relationships with these universities reinforces our commitment to STEM education, provides opportunities for growing our business, supports thought leadership in the markets in which we compete, and provides enhanced access to both professors and students.
The Leidos mission empowers our commitment to learning from unique approaches and diverse backgrounds, which is why 88% of interns from over 300 colleges and universities received offers to return or accepted full-time positions with us last year. We aim for a broad reach to further the career development of the next generation and to bring new talent to the company.
