Meet a Leidos Summer Intern: Grant
Grant, a member of Gamma Tau Phi Penn State Honors Society, has been interning for over two months now and brings a plethora of highly sought-after technical skills to his role here at Leidos.
“Grant has been a great help to the team, providing support as we document and automate processes,” said Andrea Quinn, a Leidos IT Asset Manager. “He’s been a great team player, jumping in to help with everything from reducing a backlog of operational attestation tickets, to revising process flows and work instructions.”
At Leidos, it does not matter if you are an intern or a senior level employee. You are valued and your contributions make a difference. Grant is a living example of this!
Check out what Grant has to say about his summer internship experience so far.
Where do you go to school and what are you majoring in?
I go to Penn State, and I am majoring in Cybersecurity: Analytics and Operations.
You're a Leidos summer intern. Are you doing this in person, hybrid, or virtually?
I am currently working virtually from my home in Pennsylvania in IT Asset Management.
Tell us about your internship experience so far.
My internship experience has been rewarding. Leidos has provided me the opportunity to grow professionally in more ways than I could imagine. I am currently working on asset attestation, and it has given me valuable experience that could be implemented in my future career.
What made you decide to apply for a Leidos internship?
I applied to Leidos because of how advanced the company is in the information technology field, along with how quickly the company is growing.
How will a Leidos internship help you meet your academic and career goals?
Leidos will allow me to reach my academic and professional goals by providing me real world experience that is invaluable and applicable to IT. Additionally, I can learn from my peers and use their guidance to improve my technological knowledge and expand upon other disciplines in the field.
Besides the internship, what else are you up to this summer?
Besides my internship, I am working on getting my CompTIA Security+ certification. I have been studying very hard and hope to gain my certification by the end of the summer. Also, I am an avid golfer and in my spare time I hit the green as often as I can with friends and family.
At Leidos, whether you join for a summer internship or sign on as a co-op during the academic year, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a team on critical projects, either at a Leidos facility or on a customer site.
