Throughout his summer internship, he has been busy working on projects that promote innovation and sustainability, exemplifying Leidos’ mission to make the world safer, healthier, and more efficient.

Check out what Abdallah has to say about his summer internship experience so far.

Where do you go to school and what are you majoring in?

I am currently pursuing another M.S. degree in Energy Engineering at Arizona State University.

You're a Leidos summer intern. Are you doing this in person, hybrid, or virtually?

My internship is in person in Illinois.

Tell us about your internship experience so far.

My internship experience has been truly exceptional and has exceeded my expectations. I am delighted with the knowledge and skills I have been acquiring throughout this program. The opportunity to work alongside industry professionals in my field of interest has been invaluable. I am grateful for the supportive and collaborative environment, where my colleagues have always been willing to address any questions I might have.

What made you decide to apply for a Leidos internship?

I decided to apply for a Leidos internship due to their commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions, which aligns perfectly with my academic and career aspirations. I recognized that an internship with Leidos would not only provide me with hands-on experience but also allow me to contribute to impactful projects and broaden my professional network.

How will a Leidos internship help you meet your academic and career goals?

This Leidos internship offers me the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge I have gained during my studies to real-world projects. Also, working alongside industry professionals will enable me to build valuable connections and gain insights into the latest industry trends and technologies.

Besides the internship, what else are you up to this summer?

For the summer, I am actively pursuing certifications to enhance my professional profile, such as the FE certification (Fundamentals of Engineering), SolidWorks, and possibly PVsyst. These certifications will broaden my skill set and increase my competitiveness in the job market. Furthermore, I have compiled a list of technical books related to energy engineering that I intend to read, which will deepen my knowledge and keep me updated on the latest advancements in the field.

At Leidos, whether you join for a summer internship or sign on as a co-op during the academic year, you will have the unique opportunity to work directly with a team on critical projects, either at a Leidos facility or on a customer site.
