Leidos is the nation’s second-best employer for veterans, according to Forbes.

The company jumped to No. 2 on America’s Best Employers for Veterans 2022, published this morning, climbing 88 spots from its previous ranking.

Why you should know: Roughly 200,000 U.S. service members enter the civilian workforce every year, and Leidos is committed to supporting these veterans and their families.

The list, powered by Statista, ranks the top 200 U.S. companies that veterans like best.

“To determine the 2022 ranking, Statista surveyed more than 7,000 U.S. veterans (including those in the National Guard and military reserves) working for American-based companies employing at least 1,000 people,” according to Forbes. “Respondents from all industry sectors were asked to give their opinion on a series of statements related to general topics regarding their own employer, such as career development, reputation, working conditions, salary and wages, and diversity.”

Leidos employs more than 8,500 veterans, representing nearly 20% of the company’s workforce.

“Leidos is a place where veterans can feel at home in a culture that wants to do good things for the world,” says Leidos Chief Communications and Marketing Officer Melissa Lee Dueñas, an Air Force veteran. “It’s a place where you can be proud of your service, knowing that what you bring to the table is a part of the company’s competitive edge.”

Leidos was also recently recognized as a Military Friendly Employer for the tenth consecutive year, and earned the Department of Labor’s HIRE Vets Medallion Gold Award for the second consecutive year.

The company also ranks as one of America’s best employers for new graduates and workers with disabilities.
