Leidos Israel teams with Larger Than Life to prepare school for pediatric cancer patients
The Leidos Israel team gathered in August to help prepare the "Kindergarten of Dreams" in Be'er Sheva, Israel – the world’s first education center with sterilization standards designed for preschoolers with cancer. Due to their weakened immune system and special needs resulting from their medical condition, the children in this school need sterile conditions and an attentive staff to various medical limitations.
The Leidos Israel team took an afternoon to clean the classrooms and their unique equipment, build necessary furniture for the coming year, and prepare the building for the students’ impending arrival two weeks later. This day of service is the most recent leg in a long-term relationship with Larger Than Life, an organization that supports children with pediatric cancer and their families from all angles. The "Kindergarten of Dreams" is one of the organization's leading projects.
Hila, the kindergarten’s manager, explained to the volunteers the unique nature of the project and expressed her gratitude to Leidos team, which included Israel Managing Director Shelly Gotman and other senior managers. She explained that the work accomplished saved the organization significant funds which could then be directed toward other needs.
Through their diverse array of programs, Larger Than Life brings joy and stability to families across Israel regardless of religion, gender, or nationality. Learn more about Leidos Israel and Larger Than Life.
