Leidos announces Richard Wheeler as vice president for networks practice
RESTON, Va. (Jan. 23, 2025) – Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) announced today Richard Wheeler as vice president for its networks practice. Wheeler’s appointment signals a continued commitment to driving the modernization of federal networking solutions through cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships and mission-aligned service delivery.
With over 30 years of experience in enterprise network and IT solutions, Wheeler brings a wealth of expertise to Leidos. His background spans leadership roles in network modernization, cybersecurity and IT service management for various government agencies, including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State.
In his new role, Wheeler will focus on developing scalable, secure and mission-critical network solutions that meet the unique needs of federal agencies. He is committed to delivering adaptive, AI-driven connectivity and zero-trust security to enhance resilience and operational efficiency across federal networks.

Wheeler joins Leidos from a national security firm, where he served as the enterprise solution leader, overseeing the development of advanced network and IT capabilities for federal clients. He has also held senior roles at Leidos and Wheeler Network Design, where he led high-impact projects that enhanced the operational capabilities of various federal agencies.
