Kristin Henderson on why Leidos is a great place for working moms

While in the job market, Kristin Henderson, a mom of two very active children, was on a mission to find a company that not only understood the importance of work-life balance but encouraged and embodied it. “During my interview, I discovered that my potential team would be led by women who supported one another, and I knew instantly that Leidos was exactly what I was looking for,” she said enthusiastically. 

Kristin joined Leidos in December 2022 as Project Finance Analyst Lead and works remotely from her home in Arkansas. “Leidos has given me the support to do my job, and do it well, so that I can focus on my children when they need me most. The company understands the importance of family and the huge mental load that comes with being a working mom. The people at Leidos truly want what’s best for you as a person,” she said proudly.

Kristin feels like she has the best of both worlds: she can nurture her career and children simultaneously. “I am at the stage of motherhood where I am getting to watch my kids become independent and navigate the world. It is really cool to see what good, kind, and helpful people they are becoming,” she gushed. And while her children are growing, so is her career. “I appreciate how innovative Leidos is, and that the company is continually looking for new ways to make things better for its customers and employees. I have had the privilege of working with many brilliant coworkers, and one thing that stands out most is that no matter what position or level you hold, it really is always a team effort.”
