Digital First: Delivering hybrid care for service members and their families
The Leidos Partnership of Defense Health (LPDH) and the Defense Health Agency (DHA) are working together to transform DHA’s care delivery into a new, hybrid care enablement model. Named My Military Health, the model envisions patient-centered care for service members and their families through accessible, convenient, personalized, effective, and whole health engagement.
My Military Health weaves virtual, automated, and digital multi-specialty healthcare into a patient’s overall care journey. Initially, this includes scheduled virtual visits, which are integrated into the MHS GENESIS electronic health record (EHR) currently available to DHA providers.

For patients, there are no extra app downloads or logins required to take advantage of a virtual visit. For providers, the virtual care experience is embedded directly within existing workflows, reducing barriers to adoption and usage. In the future, My Military Health will include patient-initiated, on-demand, virtual visits capitalizing on the same infrastructure and EHR integrations.
Customer Benefits
The new hybrid platform helps facilitate seamless in-person, virtual, and automated care delivery — all aimed at moving the Military Health System (MHS) toward “digital-first” care. Patients experience healthcare through a secure and integrated communication platform, including:
- Automated Care: AI-driven assistance
- Augmented Care: Maximizing wellness and self-care
- Connected Care: Delivering time as value to enhance the patient experience
DHA’s My Military Health initiative is an exciting step forward for hybrid care access for all MHS beneficiaries. As part of that mission, the LPDH is helping provide patient-centered care through accessible, convenient, personalized, effective, and holistic digital engagement for service members and their families.
