AirShield combats drone threats on the move
Leidos AirShield™ was introduced at the Association of the U.S. Army's Annual Meeting and Exposition, one of the largest industry tradeshows hosted every year. While the name was new, the innovation is not. Leidos has been working on counter-drone and unmanned aerial systems for years, and AirShield demonstrates the company's signature entrepreneurial spirit in solving complex problems.
AirShield is designed to offer both kinetic and non-kinetic options for taking down targets and can do so on the move. The system employs AI for weapon-to-threat pairing, previously managed by a rule-based algorithm. Ongoing research explores how further AI and machine learning enhancements can be integrated into the system.
