Tom Bell is Chief Executive Officer of Leidos. With approximately $15.4 billion in annual revenue and 48,000 employees worldwide, Leidos is a recognized global leader in solving important problems in the defense, intelligence, homeland security, civil, and health markets. With a customer-focused and innovative approach, Bell’s strategic vision for Leidos focuses on promoting healthy growth while advancing the company’s overall strategy. 

Before becoming CEO in May 2023, Bell held leadership roles across prominent aerospace organizations for nearly 40 years. He was previously President of Rolls-Royce Defense where he led a global team of 10,000 professionals providing cutting-edge power, propulsion, and service solutions for aerospace, naval, and nuclear submarine applications to customers in more than 100 countries. In addition, Bell was Chairman and CEO of Rolls-Royce North America, Inc., overseeing all North American business and U.S-based employees, facilities, and customers. 

Bell began his career at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin) in human space flight. He then joined McDonnell Douglas (now The Boeing Company) and held varied positions in manufacturing engineering, contracts and pricing, sales and marketing, and program management. He became Boeing’s Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing for Defense, Space & Security, securing major wins in aircraft, rotorcraft, services, space, missile systems, and satellites. Bell has also served as Strategy Lead for Boeing Defense and Space, where he was responsible for research & development prioritization, merger and acquisition playbook, and market analysis. Other former roles at Boeing include living and working in Helsinki and President, U.K. Operations.  

Bell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the Florida Institute of Technology. He currently serves on the Executive Committee for the Aerospace Industries Association.
